MLEI undertook the structural engineering for this expansive 2300m² building using light gauge steel. In collaboration with True Steel Frames, we developed a light gauge steel solution using the Enduro Frame building system. This approach ensured that we maintained high quality without compromising on cost, to result in an efficient and timely construction process. This project was awarded Highly Commended in the Innovative Cold Formed Steel Buildings category at the 2024 SA Australian Steel Excellence Awards .

A significant challenge in this project was providing support for the mechanical equipment on a roof featuring 17m long trusses, all while avoiding the use of traditional structural steel. MLEI successfully addressed this challenge by employing light gauge steel framing, which delivered the necessary strength while minimising overall weight and construction complexity.
