Linney Engineering Services (part of MLEI Group) provided a full engineering and management service for the project including master planning, cost planning, design, procurement and construction management for this major expansion to the existing Dorrien Estate winery. The project increased the winery’s annual production capacity by 40% – from 12,000 to 20,000 tonnes.
Our project scope included:
- Decommissioning and refilling a series of wastewater treatment dams to make way for construction of new buildings and construction of a site emergency spill dam
- Construction of new fruit receival area – including tilt-up panel construction lower crushing level, trafficable suspended slabs, two new receival bins and associated crushing equipment, control room, additive dosing room, electrical room and overhead canopy
- Tank farms – staged over four areas totalling 292 tanks, 22 ML total volume
- New processing building with precast concrete panel wall and steel roof contraction – fitted out with centrifuge, hot water generator, cross flow filters, and operator offices and amenities
- Red fermenter area upgrade – including construction of two new banks of 16 x 36T and 12 x 48T fermenters and relocation of existing fermenters and new overhead canopy.
