This project consolidated Pernod Ricard Winemakers’ Barossa Valley winemaking production capacity and included the relocation of their winery equipment from their Richmond Grove site to the Rowland Flat site. Linney Engineering Services (part of MLEI Group) provided the concept design & general arrangement, as well as detailed civil and structural design for significant foundations and footings in difficult soil conditions, structural and mechanical design of various equipment components throughout the project.

The project scope included:

  • Demolition of existing cellar building and wine storage tanks
  • Installation of new fruit receival area – including fruit staging area, trafficable suspended slab area, dual receival hoppers and crusher de-stemmers, stalk elevators and associated infrastructure.
  • Relocation of fermenter banks – including 24x 25T sweep arm fermenters and 32x 50T fermenters, which were structurally modified to accommodate modern structural standards, 4x white bag presses – relocated and installed on a cast-in-situ concrete marc bay wall structure, 3x wet marc presses – relocated and installed in a static position, including new and modified dry marc bay conveyors, and 98 wine storage & process tanks were relocated including new and modified relocated stairs and walkways.
