MLEI were engaged to undertake the civil and drainage design for a new play space within the adjacent Denise Norton Park as well as an upgrade of Prospect Road kerbing and drainage, between Park Terrace and O’Connell Street.

Our project scope included design for:

• Site levels and associated stormwater drainage to suit the proposed works – this incorporated Water Sensitive Urban Design, using runoff from Prospect Road to passively irrigate landscaped areas within the parklands through subsurface infiltration pipework
• New pedestrian pathways and new shared use path
• New pedestrian refuge crossing on Prospect Road.

MLEI worked collaboratively with lead consultant Tract and the City of Adelaide to resolve some challenges relating to the discharge of stormwater from the road into the parklands.
