MLEI undertook the detailed design for the upgrade of Myer Street and service roads between Roadknight St and Coates Road, including School Street and Lambert Street. The project increased traffic and pedestrian safety by improving intersecting roads and service roads, informal traffic movements between the service roads, and Myer Street grassed medians.
The improvements also addressed parking issues around Lakes Entrance Primary School and the shortage of pedestrian connections along Myer Street without removing existing trees.

The scope included designs for:

  • New drainage infrastructure including kerb and channel
  • Redeveloping intersections, including traffic operations assessment
  • Upgrading bus stops
  • Upgrading pedestrian facilities to improve pedestrian safety, including new pedestrian crossings and footpath
  • Reconstructing driveway accesses.
