DESCRIPTION New glass beneficiation plant
PROJECT PERIOD 2020‐2022
PROJECT VALUE $25M
MLEI undertook the civil and structural design for this new glass beneficiation plant to significantly increase the use of recycled glass in its manufactured products. The project consisted of a 3,100m2 warehouse, 280m2 2-storey office, 2 weighbridge pits, platforms and stairs around proposed equipment, footings to support entry gate/transformer/sundry items, external concrete hardstand area.
MLEI’s scope of work consisted of:
Civil engineering:
- Stormwater analysis and design, including review of existing basin
- Civil design including heavy duty pavement design (using CIRCLY)
- Siteworks and drainage plan.
Structural engineering:
- Structural design of footings and superstructures
- Support of large cullet silos.
This project highlights our experience with medium duty industrial facilities that incorporate complex process equipment requirements similar to that in the manufacturing industry. This project was also delivered in a tight timeframe with staged delivery of documents to ensure the Builder started on site as soon as possible.
