The East Gippsland Shire Council required safe pedestrian access along a busy stretch of Lindenow-Glenaladale Road and increase safety between two bus stops (primary school and recreation reserve) by providing of 2.5m wide concrete footpath and elevated boardwalk as well as the replacement and relocation of bus shelters to accommodate a bus holding lane. The footpath/boardwalk connection started from Upland Street (opposite Lindenow Primary School) to the Lindenow South Recreation Reserve.
MLEI’s project scope included:
- Review of existing drainage and pedestrian access across the area – location and depthing of all services, feature site survey, vegetation/biodiversity assessment, drainage site investigation, road safety audit, geotechnical investigation.
- Design – new 147m footpath, new 380m footpath and new 150 metres boardwalk, two replacement bus shelters with improved bus pull-off area, improved drainage.
- Construction schedule for the tendering process.
