2007

MLEI was established by Nicholas Murphy, Shaun Reincke and Malcolm Laws. “Murphy Laws Engineering and Investments”

2010

Thomas Ha joined us as Director. We expanded into Port Lincoln and Mildura.

2011

Pocius & Associates was acquired by MLEI, with Eugene Pocius the previous Director joining our team.

2015

We welcomed Ben Rice as Director.

2017

Ginos Engineers were acquired by MLEI and strengthened our residential expertise and capacity.

2019

Offices established in Melbourne and Darwin.

2022

We welcomed Jim Nayler as Director.
Focus Bridge Engineering came onboard, expanding our strength in bridge expertise in NSW.
Linney Engineering Services integrated into the group, with an office expansion in Mawson Lakes.

2023

ESEN Engineering joined the group, expanding our civil and structural capability in QLD.
CrackerJack Consulting integrated into the group, strengthening aquatic and structural engineering capability.

2024

MLEI and AVEB entered into partnership.

2025

Companywide restructure to support the next stage of growth.
MRA Engineering joined the group, adding environmental consultancy capability.
We welcomed Madsen Giersing to the group, strengthening our marine and temporary works expertise.
OSKA integrated into the group, expanding our hydraulic, civil and structural capability in QLD.

2026

MLEI Group launch, bringing all companies together under one brand umbrella.

MLEI was founded in 2007 with a vision to provide practical engineering advice, build trusted client relationships and create a workplace where people could develop their expertise through collaboration. What began as a specialist engineering consultancy has grown into a national multidisciplinary business through organic growth, long-term client partnerships and the integration of complementary businesses. Throughout that growth, our focus has remained consistent. We help clients navigate complexity, make informed decisions and deliver projects that create lasting value for communities, industries and the environments in which they operate.

Over time, we have welcomed respected specialist teams into the group, each bringing technical capability, trusted client relationships and decades of industry experience. We have built on those established legacies, strengthening what made each business successful while bringing their expertise into a broader national team.
