Project Overview
This 80-lot brownfield residential subdivision was delivered over four stages, transforming an existing site into a compliant residential development while responding to the challenges of flat terrain and existing infrastructure constraints.
MLEI provided detailed civil engineering design, including earthworks, roads, grading, pavement design, potable water and sewer infrastructure, common service trench layouts, street lighting and electrical reticulation, telecommunications infrastructure, gas infrastructure coordination, and water sensitive urban design (WSUD).
Our services also included tender documentation and assessment, contract administration, superintendence, and engineering inspections throughout construction.
The project achieved compliant and practical stormwater outcomes through MUSIC modelling and bio-retention basin design, while delivering construction efficiencies including more than $250,000 in avoided disposal costs through topsoil reuse, reduced construction risk through early potholing investigations, economical rock battering solutions, and contract variations maintained below five per cent of the contract value.
