Gorgon Pioneer Materials Offloading Facility

The Pioneer Materials Offloading Facility at Barrow Island supported construction of the LNG plant and main wharf, while also providing capacity for future marine transport needs. The facility included three berths, a land-backed wharf, small craft landing jetty and navigation leads.

• Steel frame dolphin structures
• Jacket modules placed over four- or six-pile groups and grouted into position
• Dolphins and walkways designed to resist overtopping cyclonic wave conditions

Small Craft and Navigation

• Small craft jetty with four platform levels for vessel access across different tides
• Navigation lead monopoles with platforms approximately 20m above sea level
• Ladder and intermediate platform access to the upper navigation platforms

The project demonstrates specialist marine engineering capability across heavy-load berthing infrastructure, dolphin structures, jacket modules, cyclone-resilient design and operational access in a demanding offshore environment.
