Project Overview
The Kwinana Power Station project required a temporary marine access structure to support installation of a cooling water outfall pipeline for the 320MW gas-fired power station in Western Australia. The works needed to provide safe access for heavy plant, pipeline installation and cofferdam operations in water depths of up to 10m.

Temporary Jetty
- 324m long temporary jetty
- Designed to support a 180-tonne crawler crane
- 27 spans, each 12m long
- Modular segments for efficient transport, assembly and removal
- Construction methodology allowing one jetty span to be built per day
Pipeline Installation
- Installation of 1,800 ID concrete pipeline
- Direct access for excavation equipment
- Spoil removal from the pipeline trench
- Pipe placement and trench backfilling
Cofferdam Works
- 20m long x 4.5m wide cofferdam driven beside the jetty
- Sheet pile driving and removal supported from the jetty
- Cofferdam removed and repositioned as pipeline works progressed
The temporary jetty gave the project team a practical construction platform in a marine environment. Its modular design supported efficient installation, relocation and removal while providing the strength needed for heavy crane operations.
