Marion + Richmond Road Intersection Upgrade
South Australia
Project Overview
The Marion Road and Richmond Road intersection upgrade formed part of the North-South Corridor Broader Network Upgrades, supporting improved movement between Adelaide’s southern suburbs, the CBD and Adelaide Airport. The $40 million project focused on increasing intersection capacity, improving freight efficiency and strengthening connectivity across the surrounding road network.
As principal civil design lead, MLEI coordinated the multidisciplinary engineering design and documentation, integrating civil, traffic, pavement, lighting, urban design and environmental considerations. The design progressed rapidly to 30% completion before the project was suspended following the withdrawal of Federal Government funding.
