Project Overview

The Yarraman Road Bridge project replaced a flood prone causeway with a new 102.3 metre concrete bridge, providing a reliable all weather crossing over Wybong Creek. Delivered as part of the Mangoola Coal Continued Operations Yarraman Road Upgrade, the project improves safety, connectivity and network resilience while supporting future growth in the Wybong region. MLEI delivered the bridge engineering from initial investigations through to detailed design and construction support.

Key Project Elements

  • Site investigations, flood assessments and engineering optioneering completed to identify the preferred bridge solution
  • Concept design developed, including bridge options and construction cost estimates
  • Detailed design completed for a 102.3 metre, three span Type 5 Super T concrete bridge
  • Bridge design developed in accordance with AS 5100 and Transport for NSW standards
  • Bridge alignment coordinated with the adjoining road design to provide a seamless connection
  • Design documentation issued at 20%, 100% and Issued for Construction stages
  • Construction support provided throughout project delivery
  • Technical advice provided for hydrology and hydraulic investigations
  • Geotechnical and survey inputs coordinated to support the detailed design
