Nowra Bridge

Following the construction of the new four lane Princes Highway crossing, the heritage listed 1881 Nowra Bridge was repurposed as a shared pedestrian and cycling path. MLEI provided engineering heritage and structural engineering services to support the adaptive reuse of this iconic structure. Repurposed as a shared path for pedestrians and cyclists, the project required a sensitive balance between heritage conservation and contemporary community use. As lead consultant, we delivered the Statement of Heritage Impact, managed statutory heritage requirements, completed structural assessments and rehabilitation planning, and developed a Heritage Interpretation Strategy.
